Weight Loss/ Weight Gain & Bodybuilding

Weight loss is such inaccurate term. What we should be saying is "fat loss". Obesity is obviously an unhealthy physical state with many possible repercussions such as insulin resistance, diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome X, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease and more.... Malnutrition: "a state of poor nutrition; resulting from insufficient or excessive diet or from the inability to absorb foods". Therefore, obesity is a state of malnutrition and it must be addressed.

Weight Gain is also an inaccurate term. It should be termed.......                           "Lean Body Weight Gain". Candice, pictured above, is by no means a bodybuilder as my photo to the right displays but Candice now has a "healthier" appearance as opposed to her starting plan. Remember the definition of malnutrition; a state of poor nutrition; too much or not enough as this case was.

Bodybuilding is also a misunderstood term. Many people still believe that anyone who is a bodybuilder is a steroid freak. Now, it's true that many high level competitive bodybuilders and athletes use anabolic hormones, however, you don't have to use hormones to be a bodybuilder. The fact is anyone who trains with weights seriously to change their overall dimensions and appearance is a bodybuilder.
